I like observing people and during my last trip to Nepal,my native country – I visited a couple of temples. During one such visit, i was able to take these pictures. These faces particularly took to my interest – the signs of time and age clearly written on their faces. All of them were devotees at the Manakamana Temple , where it is believed ones wishes are fulfilled.
Old men’s eyes are like old men’s memories; they are strongest for things a long way off
~ GEORGE ELIOT, Romola
An exhausted devotee at Manakamana
What is the worst of woes that wait on age?
What stamps the wrinkle deeper on the brow?
To view each loved one blotted from life’s page,
And be alone on earth, as I am now.
~ LORD BYRON, Childe Harold
Friends, sisters , cousins – maybe? This picture probably is well described by these lines:
Grow old along with me!
The best is yet to be,
The last of life, for which the first was made.
~ ROBERT BROWNING, Rabbi ben Ezra
